The short answer
Nothing you already saved is deleted
A subscription that ends does not reach into your shelf. Every card,
every haul, every QC photo, every measurement, and every link you
already published stays exactly where it is. Credenza never deletes a
customer's data because a payment stopped.
What changes is what you may add next. The caps return to the
free numbers, and they apply to the next thing you do, not to the
things you did. That one distinction explains every row below, so it
is worth reading once before the detail.
The rule has a plain shape: past work is kept, new work is
capped. A shelf of 300 cards stays 300 cards. A 40th card
added tomorrow is still free, because cards are unlimited on both
plans. A third open haul is refused, because free runs two.
The grace period
A failed card does not drop you the same day
There are two different endings, and they behave differently.
You cancel. Pro runs to the end of the period you
already paid for. Cancelling on day 3 of a month does not take Pro
away on day 3 — you keep it until the date the payment covered.
A payment fails. A card expires, a bank declines a
renewal, or a subscription lapses without you noticing. Pro limits
hold for a further seven days. That window exists because a declined
card is usually an administrative accident, not a decision, and
losing your daily limits mid-haul over an expired expiry date is a
bad way to find out.
During those seven days one thing is different from full Pro: the
continuous save to your account pauses. Reading your shelf back on
another device still works. Writing new changes up to the server
waits until the payment is fixed. The shelf on the device you are
holding keeps working normally the whole time, because that shelf is
the real one.
Row by row
What each paid row does when it lapses
The table reads left to right: the row on the price list, what
happens to what you already have, and what happens the next time you

The three that surprise people
Where "kept" is doing real work
Your QC photos are not trimmed. An item holding 12
photos does not lose 8 of them the day Pro ends. The cap governs
adding, never storing. This is deliberate: a cap that deleted
pictures would turn a billing event into data loss, and there is no
version of that we would ship. See
how to track QC photos for what
the photos are for in the first place.
Your published links keep working. If you published
more links than the free plan allows, the extras are not switched off
and not deleted. You simply cannot create another one until you are
back under the free number. Deleting one you have finished with
returns a slot immediately —
deleting a shared link
covers what a delete reaches.
A link's Pro settings survive. A link you published
as unlisted stays unlisted. One with no Credenza footer keeps having
no footer. One with an expiry date still expires on that date. The
settings live on the link, and the plan is checked when the link is
made, not every time somebody opens it. What
unlisted actually
hides is worth reading before you rely on it either way.
Getting your shelf out
You never need a subscription to leave
The backup file is free, on every plan, signed in or not. Open the
menu, press the .json backup, and you have the whole shelf as a file:
titles, sellers, prices, sizes, notes, QC photos, hauls, and links.
It restores into any browser.
The spreadsheet export is the one that stops, because it is a Pro
row. If you want a .csv of a haul, take it before the period ends.
Backing up your shelf
covers both files and what each is for.
This is the same principle as the rest of the app. The shelf lives on
your device, the server holds a copy, and neither the copy nor the
original is held hostage to a payment.
Coming back
Restarting picks up where you stopped
Nothing was thrown away, so nothing has to be rebuilt. Paying again
raises the caps, and the shelf you left is the shelf you get. Your
hauls are still there, archived or open. Your links still work. Your
photos are still on the items.
Two small things are worth doing on the first day back. Archive the
hauls that shipped while you were away, so the open-haul count is
honest. Then open the app on your second device once, so the two
shelves merge before you edit either. The merge rules are in
the backup guide; the short
version is that the newer edit wins and a delete stays deleted.
The price list has the current numbers for
both plans, and the FAQ answers the billing
questions this page does not.
Credenza is a decision layer, not a marketplace and not a W2C search
engine. You bring the links from communities and stores you already
use.
